MOVE UP

MOVE UP helps build the resilience of urban poor populations to withstand and manage the impact of disasters by strengthening urban disaster preparedness, response, and management capacity of the national, sub – national & local government units (LGUs), and other stakeholders through the adaption and/or replication of tested urban resilience strategies on alternative temporary shelter, resilient livelihood, shock-responsive social protection, national advocacy, and rapid response.

The MOVE UP Project is funded by the European Union and implemented by CARE, Plan International, Action Against Hunger, and ACCORD Incorporated.

The European Union and its Member States are the world’s leading donor of humanitarian aid. Relief assistance is an expression of European solidarity with people in need all around the world. It aims to save lives, prevent and alleviate human suffering, and safeguard the integrity and human dignity of populations affected by natural disasters and man-made crises.

Through its Civil Protection and Humanitarian aid Operations department (ECHO), the European Union helps millions of victims of conflict and disasters every year.
